Deceased Horse Collection — What Happens & What To Expect

Immediate answer

Deceased horse collection with Harbourside is a single phone call. We confirm the address, give you an arrival window, attend with purpose-built equipment, and handle your horse under our SafeHarbour Verification chain-of-care system. From your call to a horse being safely on the way takes a few hours in most cases.

Phone Alby — 0493 814 474

Every horse handled by Harbourside is cared for under SafeHarbour Verification — one numbered tag, one chamber, one companion at a time.

What happens when I call?

When you phone 0493 814 474, Alby (or a family member) answers personally. We ask for your name, the collection address, gate access, and which aftercare option you'd like — cremation, removal, or burial assistance.

We confirm an arrival window on the call. There's no paperwork to chase, no online forms to fill in unless you prefer that, and no upfront payment to clear before we attend.

What equipment do you use?

We use purpose-built equine collection equipment — winches, padded straps and a low-floor vehicle suited to paddock and stable retrieval. Nothing about the process is improvised.

Your horse is moved once, with dignity, and tagged with a unique SafeHarbour identifier before they leave the property.

What happens after collection?

Your horse travels in a dedicated vehicle to our facility. There is no co-mingling with other animals. On arrival we reconcile the SafeHarbour tag against your booking and place them into care.

If you have chosen individual cremation, your horse is the only one in the chamber. Ashes are returned to you within 3–4 weeks.
