Cat cremation follows the same individual process as any companion: collection from your home or vet, identification tagging, individual cremation, and ashes returned within about 5 to 7 days. Harbourside's cat cremation packages start at $430 with ashes returned, or $250 for removal only.
Cats live quietly in the middle of a household, and their absence is felt in small ways for a long time — the empty windowsill, the untouched corner of the bed.
How the process works
- You call and we talk it through — no forms, no rush.
- We collect from your home or clinic, in an unmarked vehicle, on a clean blanket.
- A numbered SafeHarbour tag is applied before they leave your sight.
- Individual cremation — your cat alone in the chamber.
- Ashes are prepared and returned in your chosen memorial, usually within 5–7 days.
Keepsakes worth asking about
Every package includes an ink paw print and a fur clipping. Families often also ask for a nose-print study or a hand-drawn portrait from a favourite photo — tell us early and we'll arrange it.
If your cat died outdoors or wasn't found for a while
This happens more often than people admit, and it doesn't change anything about the care they receive. Call us and describe the situation plainly — we've handled it many times and we will not make you feel awkward about it.

How much does cat cremation cost?
From $430 with ashes returned in a scatter tube, from $470 for an alloy urn, and $250 for removal only with no ashes returned. Collection is included on weekdays.
How much ash does a cat produce?
Usually around 150 to 250 grams, depending on bone density rather than body weight.
Can I be there when she's collected?
Yes, and you can also step away — whichever is easier. Both are completely normal.
